Music radio is main source of broadcast on marketable and non- marketable radio stations. Many countries use in radio. Rock music entered during 1950s and credit goes to hot DJs such as Alan Freed, Wolfman Jack and Dewey Phillips with an enjoyment for music.

Since the decline of early free form rock radio, many listeners have been dissatisfied with the content of radio programming for many years. The small experiment of internet radio was done in mid-90. The advantages of Internet radio was more and more mobile listening public, greater choice, a more eclectic approach to format programming and static-free digital noise class. The music radio formats is Freeform Rock, Top 40 and AOR (Album Oriented Rock). Other stations use different formats with a different play list. AOR format present in two branch Classic rock and adult album alternative. The classic rock and oldies formats have a powerful place in market, but as the audience becomes older the station becomes less beautiful to advertisers. Many oldies stations, like WJMK in Chicago and WCBS-FM in New York City switched over to the far more- different Jack FM format in new years.

Classical, pop, easy-listening, jazz and dance formats all have small but very faithful audiences in the major markets. Classical music radio is just as it sounds radio. Jazz stations generally play smooth jazz. Dance music format radio station is called as "rhythmic pop" stations.

Country Music stations are two categories Hot Country and Classic country. 1980 most famous format is hip-hop/rap.
